Golders Green (Northern Line, Edgware branch)
Golders Green is about 20 minutes from Leicester Square, about
15 from Bank. It is about 10 minutes walk from the house. See
local map.
H2. Red minibus from Golders Green station every
12 minutes to our door. Turn right as you leave the tube station,
follow the path and before you reach the road there is a crescent
where only the H2 stops. Ask the driver for Iolanthe.
Take the Piccadilly Line and change at Kings Cross.
Take main line train or the Airport Express coach
to Victoria, then Victoria line and change at Euston.
Airbus A6 to Golders Green every 20 minutes,
price £8 single, £15 return, or main line train
to Liverpool Street station, then Central line and change at
Tottenham Court Road
If you take a black cab from Heathrow expect to
pay from £50 upwards
A minicab is much cheaper. The firm we use is: London Car
Service + 44 020 8455 6777. At the time of writing this
firm is reliable with reasonable cars and pleasant
drivers. Beware of unlicenced minicabs who solicit your custom.
Prices as at 13/9/04 from the airports are as
follows: Heathrow £29: Gatwick £51: Stansted
£44: City £28. These prices include meeting your 'plane
and a half-hour wait after the plane has landed. If you would
like us to book your taxi for you, please state this and your
flight number on the booking form or at the time of reservation.
Prices to the airports are £6 cheaper.
Iolanthe is very close to the M1, the A1 and the A406. We
are about 20 minutes from the M25.
